Conferences

Conferences provide local, national and international opportunities for students to contribute to their field of research, inspire others, and forge important networks across disciplines.

Life and Health Sciences Research Expo 2021 - Thursday, May 6th, 2021

The Life and Health Sciences Research Expo acknowledges exemplary research and learning activity at the University of Saskatchewan. After being cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual event is returning in a virtual format to showcase interdisciplinary health science research throughout the province and across both basic and clinical sciences.

The 2021 expo will consist of online PowerPoint research presentation sessions — some in the morning and some in the afternoon with up to 160 researchers competing  — plus an afternoon online awards reception. Student prizes available at the research expo total over $5,000!

USask students, researchers, faculty, staff, and senior leaders are invited to celebrate outstanding research, collaboration, and mentorship within the health sciences.

April 9, 2021 - Deadline to register and submit materials (abstracts for the presentation competition, papers, and/or award nominations)

World Class Day 4: A Virtual Celebration of Student Research - May 28th & 29th, 2021

World Class Day (WCD), a free online conference, highlights research carried out by students worldwide. Via live video link, participants introduce their projects to an international audience. Within a limit of five minutes, they accomplish these goals: ask an important new question that is grounded in the theory or method best suited for their own inquiry; identify a key insight that they have reached; predict the next steps for the research trajectory.

This conference is designed for students to share their individual research across distances, disciplines, and cultures. They come together to share and discuss their work with their international audience.

April 30th, 2021 - Deadline to apply using the link in the title above.

Please note: if you are applying to participate in WCD4, please inform Dr. Merle Massie, USask Undergraduate Research Initiative Coordinator, by emailing undergraduate.research@usask.ca.
