Biography

Vanessa Leon has been with the University of Saskatchewan for over 10 years. She has worked in domestic and international student recruitment, and as an academic advisor to prospective and current students. Vanessa has developed programming to enhance the student experience and built relationships with prospective students and their support networks which resulted in being named the Advisor of the Year in 2017-18.

Vanessa earned her BA in Public Administration from the University of Saskatchewan; and, MA in Higher Education Administration and Leadership, with a specialization in business development in international education from Royal Roads University. Her research interests in systems leadership and strategic planning have been instrumental in recruitment program development.

She has a working proficiency in Spanish and beginner level Italian. Vanessa is excited about her work with the International Office to advance her language skills and professional network. Outside of work Vanessa is also Principal Second Violin with the University Symphony Orchestra.

Vanessa manages the partnerships in regions including Africa, America and Oceania.
