Biography

Dr. Nataliia Zakharchuk has more than 15 years of experience in higher education in Canada and internationally. She started her career in Ukraine as a Bachelor of Education through the Master of Education and Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences programs and continued as an Associate Professor at a leading Ukrainian university.

Nataliia holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Saskatchewan. Her doctoral research informs the facilitation of sustainable international cooperation between educational institutions and provides a comprehensive understanding of administrative policies and leadership practices in Ukrainian and European contexts. Nataliia is a recipient of several national scholarships, including the Social Sciences & Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) Doctoral Fellowship and a few prestigious research fellowships funded by the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies. Nataliia’s international research received the Tomas B. Greenfield Award from the Canadian Association for the Study of Educational Administration (CASEA) and earned national recognition as the best Doctoral Dissertation in educational administration and leadership completed at a Canadian university in 2021.

Presently, Nataliia is an International Research Specialist at the University of Saskatchewan. Her expertise includes internationalization, institutional internationalization strategies, global regionalization tendencies, international funding landscapes, and international grant applications, with a particular emphasis on US grants and their application requirements. Nataliia’s International Research Specialist portfolio is focused on Social Sciences and Humanities.
