Biography

Dr. Leila Tang joined the University of Saskatchewan (USask) in 2017. She started with the Teaching, Learning, and Student Experience (TLSE) Service Team to provide marketing support for international student recruitment, and then joined the International Office as an International Partnerships Specialist with a focus on developing USask’s institutional relations with Asian partners. Currently she is an International Research Specialist with her portfolio focusing on Engineering, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Leila is passionate about helping connect USask researchers with international collaborators, secure funding opportunities, access internal and external research resources, and improve international research proposal quality and compliance performance.

With professional experience in the communications industry in China, Hong Kong and Japan, Leila worked for more than ten years in the higher education sector in Hong Kong and China. She was a faculty member in Communication Studies at a prominent Chinese university before moving to Canada. Outside of work she enjoys learning about history, swimming, and fishing with family.
