Biography

Dan was born and raised in Northeast China. She came to the University of Saskatchewan as an international student in 2001 and earned her bachelor’s degree in Regional and Urban Planning, as well as her master’s degrees in Human Geography and Educational Administration.

With a deep-rooted passion for higher education and its transformative impact on individuals and society, Dan has gained extensive experience in the field. She has served as a graduate student assistant at the International Student and Study Abroad Centre, an international visit coordinator at the International Office, and an administrative coordinator at the USask Confucius Institute. Notably, she has successfully organized and led 10 educational tours to China, catering to USask students from various academic and cultural backgrounds, as well as faculty members, staff, researchers, and students and principals from local schools.

An animal lover, Dan and her previous dog, Mia, were part of the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Team. Her new puppy, DouDou, just turned one year old. Dan is also an active member of the ASPA engagement committee and a dedicated volunteer and performer at numerous cultural festivals within the local communities.
