Set Up and Release of Funds
USask's Research Administration Policies and Procedures outline what is needed to set up and administer funds. Funding agencies may implement additional terms and conditions, and ethics and safety requirements must be met before funds can be released. |
UnivRS is USask's online research management system for academic and institutional approvals of your funded research activities. You can explore funding opportunities, create reports, view your funded research projects, and submit new applications for external research funding and internal review. You can also track your funded research projects, including the status of compliance checks and release of funds. |
Research Support Specialists (RSSs) help you manage research administration processes, activities, and obligations. The RSS assigned to your college/school will work with you to review the funder’s terms and conditions, ensure compliance with those conditions and USask policies/guidelines, facilitate institutional approval, and manage changes to your funded projects. |
Early Release of FundsFor multistage projects where activities involving human participants, animals, or biological material will only take place in the future, and the research methodology is not sufficiently developed to prepare a complete compliance review submission, approval can be obtained to release a portion of your funds to support activities that do not require approval certification like hiring students to complete a literature review or setting up a research space. Please contact RASI at research.services@usask.ca or your RSS directly if you wish to trigger an early release of funds. |
